On October 25th, Mr. Su Ertian, Chairman of the board of directors of Global New Material International (CHESIR) and Vice President Mr. Zhou Fangchao, visited Zhejiang University for in-depth cooperation in technology R&D. They received warm welcome form Wang Lizhong, member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and Vice Principal of Zhejiang University, Professor Han Gaorong, director of Ningbo Science and Innovation Center of Zhejiang University, professor Zhu Tiejun, dean of School of Materials Science and Engineering of Zhejiang University and other leaders.
Vice Principal Wang Lizhong and Chairman Su Ertian held friendly talks and the two sides fully exchanged views on how to conduct in-depth cooperation. Wang Lizhong said that Zhejiang University fully supported independent innovation and product R&D upgrading of Global New Material International, and hoped to give full play to its advantages in new materials R&D in the future, and vigorously supported the establishment of “ZJU-CHESIR RESEARCH&DEVELOPMENT CENTER”. Zhejiang University will Support the R&D demand of Global New Material International in the artificial synthetic mica, new energy materials, high-performance surface materials, inorganic non-metallic new materials and other fields and it hopes to make greater contributions to the development of China’s new material industry.
Prior to the talks, Chairman Su Ertian and his delegation first visited the Electron Microscope Center of Zhejiang University. In the electron microscope laboratory, Chairman Su had an in-depth exchange with the researchers to learn about the progress of the university-enterprise cooperative project, and observed the test of the atomic structure of materials. He also listened to the introduction to materials research instruments and equipment by Professor Tian He from the Electron Microscope Center.
Later, in the School of Materials Science and Engineering, Chairman Su had an in-depth exchange with professor Han Gaorong, director of Ningbo Science and Innovation Center of Zhejiang University, and Zhu Tiejun, dean of the School of Materials Science and Engineering, on the specific tasks and problems of the projects, and made clear the plan and goals of the next phase.
Chairman Su put forward a clear direction for deepening bilateral cooperation from the perspectives of scientific research and academic exchanges and the commercialization of scientific and technological achievements. He hoped that Zhejiang University can share with the company on new materials, intelligent manufacturing and other fields so that in-depth integration of talents and scientific research strength is realized to render breakthroughs in “enterprise-university cooperation” and industry-university-research cooperation. As a result, new developments can be achieved on the basis of win-win cooperation of the two parties.
Dean Zhu Tiejun said that the School of Materials Science and Engineering of Zhejiang University has a first-class research team in the field of materials, and is willing to maintain close cooperation with Global New Material International to realize complementary advantages, promote common development and achieve mutual benefits. He hoped the two sides can establish a world-class joint research and development platform for the R&D of new materials and intelligent manufacturing technologies related to the three industrial chains of high-performance surface materials, synthetic mica and new energy materials, and finally achieve the win-win goal of comprehensive technology.
Previously, the signing and inauguration of “ZJU-CHESIR RESEARCH&DEVELOPMENT CENTER” by Zhejiang University and CHESIR was held at the company. A month later, the high-level leaders of both sides conducted in-depth exchange on cooperation again, which played a positive role in deepening integrated development of projects and promoting the R&D of new products and technologies of the company in the future.
